The radon in water device consists of a single 40mL clear borosilicate vial sample
containing drinking water and scintillation oil. The radon gas will permeate into
the oil and can be analyzed with liquid scintillation counting techniques. Each
sample is counted for a total of 50 minutes and after, total counts will be converted
into pCi/L. The laboratoriy must receive the Radon in Water samples no later
than 10:30am, 2 days after sample collection (Receiving Days: Monday-Friday,
excluding holidays). Therefore, it is recommended that you send your Radon
In Water sample(s) out the same day they are collected, shipped via overnight
service for 10:30am delivery.
Due to licensing, cannot be used in New York, Connecticut, Tennessee or West
NEW JERSEY requires duplicate samples for Radon In Water Analysis. If you will
use this device in New Jersey, you must purchase two Test-Kits and collect two
consecutive (duplicate) water samples, on the same sampling date and time.
Both samples must be mailed back in the same package (ensure that you have
packaged carefully so that the vials will not break in transit).
